PSALON-1 : Ibogaine and Substance Use

PSALON-1/EDITION-2/COMMUNIQUE-2

PSALON-1, we salute you. That was invigorating.

A brief but huge thanks to our guests: Peter Krykant of cranstoun, Magdalena Harris of LHTSM, Neil Woods of LEAP UK:

inspirational work comes as standard with you three, but that was an extra keen opening.

Overdose prevention centres are needed in every city in the UK, and most villages, too. Use your voice to fight for the rights of society's most vulnerable and marginalised people. Email your MP and demand their views on the public provision of sterile spaces for people who use drugs to do so as safely as possible.

Use this.
https://www.writetothem.com

Ask if they believe we have a collective duty to provide safe spaces for injecting drug users to do so indoors, using fresh needles, under trained supervision.

And if they don't reply or don’t know what you’re on about, ask them why they ever stood for office.

Serve, you public servants. Serve.

Prof Deborah Mash of DemerX : thank you for your tireless work bringing ibogaine to a wider audience. PSALON-1 offers, too, a salute for your miraculous rationalism and that whip-smart firecracker canter through a strange and wonderful story of an addiction-interrupting rootbark from the Gabon jungles.

PSALON-1 are super grateful to Nadia Van Der Heyden of Psygen for her measured dose of realism live from BC, Canada. Like she said: ibogaine isn't some magic bullet to end drug use. But it's a valuable tool, alongside structural economic reform and better mental healthcare provision.

Next, we proffer a mind-boggled big up to Lucifer for that bonkers first-person ibogaine trip report. A serious business, self-analysis.

Thanks to all at Pitch and Sync for having us, especially Nic for his endless and calming help. Thanks to Grant Mason (“advertising") for blagging another massive print job through. Thanks to Zuppe for the incredible dhal and Warren and Adam for the lovely booze and thanks to Stewart for the door and general magic.

Ranjit Dhaliwal: A_WORLD_FIRST. LIVE REPORTAGE ON THE WHEELS OF CLAY.

Told ya :-) The pots will be with you in January.

Ranj has an order book to make any potter quake in their boots. But he does not quake. He just pots.

Here’s his stuff. Xmas gifts: job done.

We close with a massive THANKS to every one of you who came and listened and connected with us, and with each other, on a dark and chilly night.

Now it’s your turn to bang the gong: go out, spread the word, reach out like the hubs on a dome to your crews – and bring them with you next time.  Tell them how we do it – and help us to create another magical, truly psychedelic night. PSALON-1 is resting the horses before saddling up once more in late January/early Feb.

And if we pull off the coup we intend to.... you'll seriously never, ever hear the end of it.

Trust us.

Happy Christmas and see you in 2022.

We'll send you some Christmas Carols in a bit.
